WPLB celebrates Christmas with Cedar Grove

Supply, NC--- On Tuesday, December 13, 2011, Brunswick Community College Foundation’s Women in Philanthropy and Leadership (WPLB) celebrated the season spreading cheer with their special holiday project. As part of the WPLB’s service initiative, members gathered to be Santa’s elves. In the spirit of the season, WPLB members purchased gifts and stockings for delivery to several young women from Cedar Grove Middle School as part of their ongoing mentoring program.  The WPLB members in attendance were: Carolyn Felton, president, Susan Lawing, treasurer as well as Beverly Binetti, Kathy Woods, Pat Tucker, Monique Stenquist and Cindy Cheatham. “We are all delighted to be part of such a worthwhile endeavor,” stated Ms. Lawing. “What made me feel the best is when one of the girls asked: Will you come back soon so we can talk again? That was pretty awesome!”

During the year the WPLB is involved with various projects through fundraising, mentoring, advocacy, service initiatives and philanthropy in the community with a focus on issues effecting women and children.
